Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Auto Electrician to join our technical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing electrical and electronic systems in fleet vehicles while ensuring optimal vehicle performance, safety, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnostics & Repairs

Diagnose electrical faults and malfunctions in fleet vehicles.

Repair and replace faulty wiring, alternators, starter motors, batteries, lighting systems, and other electrical components.

Troubleshoot complex electrical issues involving:

Engine Management Systems (EMS)

Anti-Lock Braking Systems (ABS)

Airbag Systems

Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals accurately.

Installation & Maintenance

Install and configure electrical and electronic systems, including:

Vehicle tracking systems

Alarms and immobilizers

In-car entertainment systems

Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS)

Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicle electrical systems.

Maintain and service batteries to ensure optimal charging and performance.

Identify and resolve potential electrical issues before they result in vehicle downtime.

Customer & Team Support

Communicate diagnostic findings and repair recommendations clearly to service advisors and customers.

Collaborate effectively with workshop personnel and other technical teams.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Stay updated on emerging automotive electrical technologies and repair techniques.

Qualifications & Experience Required

Trade qualification, certification, or degree in Automotive Electrical Technology or a related field.

Minimum of 2–4 years' hands-on experience as a qualified Auto Electrician.

Valid driver's license.

Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems, components, and diagnostic procedures.

Proficiency in the use of diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.

Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Effective time management and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Advantageous

Certification in Automotive Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (ARC) or related air-conditioning repair certification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine vehicle maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, brake and steering system inspections, and tune-ups.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic testing equipment, service manuals, and technical expertise.
• Repair or replace engine components, transmissions, clutches, axles, cooling systems, fuel systems, and steering/suspension components.
• Conduct pre-purchase and safety inspections and generate accurate repair estimates for service advisors.
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and ensure a clean and organized work environment.
• Communicate diagnostic findings and repair progress effectively to the service advisors and customers
• Stay updated on new automotive technology, technical service bulletins, and repair techniques.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Relevant trade qualification, certification or degree in Automotive Technology is required
• In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems
• Minimum of 2-4 years of hands-on experience as an Auto-Mechanic or Automotive Service Technician.
• Strong planning and organizational skills
• Excellent time management
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Exceptional mechanical aptitude and strong diagnostic skills.
• Proficiency in using various hand tools, power tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment.
• Physical ability to lift heavy items, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks necessary for the job.
• Ability to handle pressure and tight deadlines
• Knowledge of welding and fabrication is beneficial.
